Tim and Cindy Harris own and operate Harris Paints of Federalsburg, Maryland.   Established in 1987, the focus at Harris Paints has been to stand some of the top stallions in the industry, to produce quality paint and quarter horse foals and to offer their customers the personal service which comes from a family owned and operated facility.

     Through the years, we have expanded our services to include all breeds of horses and ponies, offering artificial insemination, foaling services and stallion management to owners of all breeds.

     We feel that we offer a rather unique form of customer service.  By understanding that mares' cycles are often unpredictable which could necessitate a shipment of semen on a weekend, holiday or what would generally be considered an "non-collection day", our mare owner friendly shipped semen program ensures that your mare will receive semen when she actually needs it, no matter what day of the week it is.  Also, by understanding the unpredictability of the mare, unlike most farms, we do not require a 24 or 48 hour notice prior to collecting and shipping as we accept calls up until 9:30 a.m. each day and the semen will be shipped that same day.  We understand the time and expense our customers incur getting their mares ready for breeding and we therefore do everything possible to ensure they have semen when they need it.

       We enjoy getting to know our customers personally and hearing about their horses and their families.  Since this is a family owned and operated business, mare owners are assured that their mares are personally cared for by us.

     We believe that to "stand still in our industry is to fall behind".  Therefore, we strive to further our knowledge and education in equine reproduction by exploring continuing education, learning new advancements in the industry such as freezing semen and initiating an embryo transfer program.  With the addition of a USDA approved frozen semen program we are able to offer frozen semen to our customers worldwide!
